We neuter and microchip all the cats who come into our care and we also undertake any other necessary medical treatment.
We do not have an on-site vet and we are not set up to deal with emergencies. If you find an injured cat, it should be taken to a vet. Paying
vet bills for individuals who cannot afford to pay
themselves is not
within our remit,
although we may agree to pay for neutering of stray
feral cats to avoid them breeding and creating many unwanted
cats.

| We prefer to operate a trap-neuter-return policy for feral cats, so that they are not subjected to a long confinement in a cat pen. Where we have no option but to take in a feral cat (for example a mother cat feeding kittens) we place the cat in stables, on a farm or small-holding or even a safe factory site. (Once we've neutered them). |

As an accompaniment to our rehoming service, we also run a lost and found register. This aims to reunite lost cats with their owners, and to assist those people who have found a cat with reuniting it with its owners or rehoming it if the owners cannot be traced. We are able to offer a chance to orphan kittens, and able to foster on a short term basis mother cats and kittens. These are usually put up for adoption once the kittens are old enough, but we will also consider returning the mother and/or the kittens to the person bringing to them - we decide this on a case by case basis. |
|
We do not have healthy cats put to sleep on grounds of age, temperament or due to chronic but manageable medical conditions (such as hyperthyroidism or diabetes). We firmly believe that all cats have the potential to be placed in a suitable home or environment. |
|
|
If we are asked to take in a terminally ill cat, we will have the cat put to sleep when advised by our veterinary surgeons that the cat no longer has a quality of life. For the interim period - between the cat coming in and the last visit to the vet, we do our utmost to ensure that a temporary foster home can be found so that the cat has as much comfort as possible.
