PLEASE Give £1 Today - and Spread the Word!

If you donate £1 per month by standing order, that will give us £12 per year.  Enough to save the life of an orphan kitten.  If you ask five friends to do the same, that will be another £60 per year - enough to spay a queen and castrate a tom - preventing unwanted litters being born. If your five friends ask five of their friends to also donate £1 per month, that will be another £300 per year - enough to treat one or two cats for dental disease.

That's how easy it is.  All we ask you to do is to make a regular donation of as little as £1 per month, and encourage as many friends as possible to do the same - donate and encourage.

Can we spread this appeal out country-wide, and maybe world wide?  Could you be responsible for helping us earn hundreds or maybe thousands of pounds?  We bet you can!

Do you really only want £1?

Well, we'd like a lot more really, but we know that people have a lot of demands on sometimes limited resources.  The idea of this appeal is that people give what they can afford, even if it is only £1.  The strength of the appeal lies in networking - who you know!  We ask supporters to give £1 or as much as they can afford and then to ask all their friends to donate and network as well.  This way, a little effort on the part of a lot of people will get us to our target.  (See How do I tell my friends?)

Can I donate more?

Yes, please donate as much as you can comfortably afford.  We ask for £1 so that those people who can only afford £1 don't feel put off donating at that level.  If you can afford more, please donate it.

Can I donate regularly?

Yes please!  You can donate using the payment methods on this page or you can donate by standing order by downloading this form, completing it and sending it to us!  (Please email us with your address if you don't have a printer and you want us to send you a hardcopy form). This is our preferred method of receiving donations, but we are happy to accept whatever method suits you best.

I don't have a credit card

You can donate by sending a sterling cheque or Postal Order to our address, or if you are local call into our centre and donate there by cash or cheque.  Our address is: Haworth Cat Rescue, The Farm, Lower Pierce Close, Cross Roads, Keighley BD22 9AQ.  Please make cheques payable to Haworth Cat Rescue.

How do I tell my friends?

You can send this page to them, or if you're on facebook or other social networking sites why not use that medium.  We've had some success from our facebook group "In For a Pound for Haworth Cat Rescue".  Don't forget to remind them to spread the word to their friends when they've sent us their donation.

Can I donate with Gift Aid?

Yes, because this is a donation, not a payment for services received, you can donate with Gift Aid if you qualify.  To qualify you must have paid in the same tax year UK tax equivalent to the amount of Gift Aid you are donating (so, if you are donating £10 in 2010/2011 with Gift Aid, we will collect £2.50 from the Inland Revenue.  You must therefore have paid £2.50 UK tax for the period 6 April 2010 - 5 April 2011).

If you use the "charity giving" buttons on this page, you will be asked if you wish to donate with Gift Aid.  If you use the Paypal button, or send a cheque please add a note saying that you wish to donate with Gift Aid, or print off and complete this form.

We urge everyone who can to use Gift Aid.  It won't cost you anything but it will add to the amount we receive.

Will it cost anything?

Using the payment methods suggested on this page shouldn't cost you anything, however if you use Paypal we will be charged a fee.  This is around 21p for a £1 donation, and around 34p for a £10 donation.
